Information about cookies  

To optimize our web presence, we use cookies. These are small text files stored in your computer’s main memory. These cookies are deleted after you close the browser. Other cookies remain on your computer (long-term cookies) and permit its recognition on your next visit. This allows us to improve your access to our site.

Use of YouTube components with enhanced data protection mode 

On our website we use components (videos) of YouTube, LLC 901 Cherry Ave., 94066 San Bruno, CA, USA, a company belonging to Google Inc., Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.  

When you display a page that has an embedded video, a connection will be made to the YouTube server and the content will appear on the website via a communication to your browser.  

According to the information provided by YouTube, in “- enhanced data protection mode -”, data is only transferred to the YouTube server, in particular which of our websites you have visited, if you watch the video. If you are logged onto YouTube at the same time, this information will be matched to your YouTube member account. You can prevent this from happening by logging out of your member account before visiting our website.

Web analysis with Matomo 

We use Matomo (formerly Piwik) for web analytics, a service provided by InnoCraft Ltd, 150 Willis St, 6011 Wellington, New Zealand, NZBN 6106769, (“Matomo”) using cookie technology. The protection of your data is important to us, which is why we have additionally configured Matomo in such a way that your IP address is only recorded in shortened form. We, therefore, process your personal usage data anonymously. It is not possible for us to draw conclusions about your person. You have the option to prevent actions you take here from being analysed and linked. This will protect your privacy, but will also prevent the owner from learning from your actions and improving usability for you and other users.  

Fundraising box donation form   

On our website we use donation forms of the Fundraisingbox. The technical operator of the corresponding donation forms is Wikando GmbH, Schießgrabenstr. 32, 86150 Augsburg, Germany. When a page with the Fundraisingbox donation form is visited, a connection to Wikando GmbH servers is established. In doing so, Wikando GmbH is informed which pages are visited.  

If the donation form is used and personal data such as name and account details are sent, the following data will be used and stored exclusively for the purpose of collecting donations and for further donation requests: first name, last name, email address, and depending on the payment method, account holder, account details. Your data in connection with donations will be stored together with the details of the donation amount, donation frequency and donation purpose/project.    

If you wish to receive further information about our work, your name and e-mail address will be processed with our newsletter tool until you revoke it (for information on the processing of this data, see point …).  

If a donation process is started, the provider uses cookies that collect information about user behaviour. If you have deactivated the storage of cookies for DoubleClick, you will not have to expect any such cookies during the donation process with the Fundraisingbox donation form. However, Wikando GmbH also stores non-personal usage information in other cookies. If you would like to prevent this, you must block the storage of cookies in your browser.

Following subscription to our newsletters, your e-mail address is used for our own advertising purposes until you cancel the newsletter again. Cancellation is possible at any time.

The data stored when you registered for the newsletter (email address, name, IP address, and time and date of registration) will be sent to a server operated by The Rocket Science Group in the United States and stored there in accordance with the EU-US Privacy Shield.
